Thank you to all of our terrific Tax Clinic volunteers who helped
make the clinic a great success this year!
We are always looking for volunteers to fill many positions in all of our programs and services. Each year we depend on our volunteers for help with initiatives such as fundraising events and Tax Clinic.
THE FOLLOWING VOLUNTEER POSITIONS ARE CURRENTLY OPEN:
1. Office Administration Assistant
The volunteer will help with administrative duties, specifically data entry as we expand our current database. Assist the Office Coordinator with duties as needed in a non-profit office environment. Knowledge of American Sign Language is preferred, but not required. A time commitment of a minimum one business day per week, that can be broken down into two separate mornings or afternoons, as needed.
2. Third Party Event Developer
To research and develop at least one third party event per year, where Silent Voice is the sole or major net income beneficiary. Search and explore various media and networks to discover opportunities for Silent Voice to be used as the beneficiary to income earning events. With the assistance of the Director of Development, prepare and submit applications to these events (schools, corporations, associations, clubs). Assist with any negotiations that might be required, and maintain contact with event organizers when a partnership is struck. Maintain records of each and all contact with the organizers, and report to Fundraising Committee meetings 3-4 times per year.
3. “Friends Program” Development
The volunteer will ideally be an individual who is a long time supporter of the Deaf community. He or she will be expected to assist with the development a "Friends of Silent Voice" program, in recognition of and gratitude for, a special group of supporters who each commits themselves to an agreed level of annual financial support. To work directly with the Director of Development, and the Fundraising Committee. Recruit, mainly from the existing support base, and invite “Friends” to join, and handle all communications with these members. Organize at least one "Annual Friends Appreciation” event, recognizing members for their contributions and involvement with Silent Voice. Organize a minimum of one event/drive per year with the objective of recruiting and expanding the "Friends of Silent Voice" membership.
