We implement the Silent Voice mission through these services, with our focus on those most in need: Sign Language Summer Program - seven-week day camps for Deaf children and their hearing siblings, operated in an American Sign Language (ASL) environment. Family Communication Program - – qualified Deaf teachers bring ASL skills into family homes through a 12-week sign language training course. Deaf Parenting Program & Services - regular ASL-based workshops, in partnership with The Macaulay Child Development Centre, help Deaf parents of hearing children. Saturday Recreational Program - Deaf children and their hearing brothers and sisters develop social skills by interacting with Deaf peers and role models. Deaf Youth Leadership & Sports Development Program - - Deaf secondary school students gain leadership and sports skills; social and linguistic benefits, not available in their school environment. Housing Resource Centre - Helps Deaf clients looking for accommodation within their means, or assists their negotiations with agencies and landlords. Deaf Adult Services - Supports Deaf adults who need extra help in dealing with local government authorities, tax returns, public officials and systems. Silent Voice Canada has partnered with CanadaHelps.org a not-for-profit charity portal and a registered public foundation that provides this service at no cost to the charity or the donor. Click “DONATE NOW” and follow the instructions. All information you enter is strictly confidential and securely protected, and only provided to Silent Voice. Donations made through the CanadaHelps.org website are treated the same way as a regular receiptable donation. Usually within minutes of making your donation you will receive an e-mailed response confirming your transaction. Because CanadaHelps.org is a registered public foundation, you will be receipted for a donation to CanadaHelps.org. The funds are then processed and directed to the Silent Voice bank account.
